Brady was impressed with the performance of central defender Collins and midfielder Noble during West Ham’s 2-0 victory over Liverpool at the Boleyn Ground in the Premier League last weekend.
“James Collins is bouncing around inside the penalty area like a tennis ball,” the 46-year-old wrote in her football diary in The Sun (Saturday, January 2 entry).
“And Mark Noble is everywhere, clearing off his line, adding zest in attack. Two players who give it all, busy bees every match, just the kind a successful club needs.”
Collins played the entire 90 minutes against Liverpool and was the best player on the pitch. The West Ham centre-back had a pass accuracy of 54%, won 67% of his tackles and 67% of his headers, and made one interception, 23 clearances and two blocks.
Noble took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 73%, created two chances, put in one cross, attempted one dribble, won 63% of his tackles, and made six interceptions, three clearances and two blocks.
West Ham are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 32 points from 20 matches. Slaven Bilic’s side are just four points behind Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently fourth and occupy the final Champions League spot.
