Reigning FA Cup champions Arsenal will begin their defence of the title against Premier League rivals Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have won the FA Cup two years in a row now, and Arsene Wenger has named a strong side to face Sunderland, just weeks after playing them in the Premier League.

The likes of Petr Cech, Hector Bellerin, Laurent Koscielny, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud all start, whilst fringe players Kieran Gibbs, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Calum Chambers are also in the team.

Teenage forward Alex Iwobi is handed a start, whilst the bench contains the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Nacho Monreal, as well as youngsters Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Chris Willock.

Meanwhile, Sunderland hand a first-team debut to goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who has been recalled after an impressive loan spell with Championship side Preston North End, meaning ex-Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone is on the bench.

In an attacking line-up, Sam Allardyce has handed starts to Duncan Watmore, Ola Toivonen, Jeremain Lens, Steven Fletcher and Danny Graham, whilst Fabio Borini and Jermain Defoe are both on the bench
