Charlie Nicholas comments on the big decision facing Pochettino this weekend

The Sky Sports pundit feels one area of selection will concern the Tottenham Hotspur boss in particular.

Charlie Nicholas has asked whether Mauricio Pochettino can afford to rest Harry Kane against Leicester City in the FA Cup this weekend, according to his Sky Sports predictions column.

Indeed, with a busy Premier League season taking a break for the cup this weekend, the pundit is expecting an exciting game but has raised the issue of resting Kane, who has played plenty of minutes for Tottenham already this season.

And the former Arsenal striker also feels Pochettino is doing a 'remarkable' job at White Hart Lane.

Nicholas told Sky Sports: "What a cracker and it's simply a case of who wants to win it most. What Pochettino is doing at Tottenham is remarkable and that's coming from an ex-Gunner. Can he afford to leave Harry Kane out for this one?"

Surely, if Spurs are serious about the FA Cup, Kane has to start.

The north London side's other attacking players are in good form but none are recognised centre-forwards. It's interesting that Nicholas is asking about resting Kane - and normally this would be a good opportunity - but Tottenham fans will want their side to make an effort after being knocked out of the Capital One Cup straightaway.

In that competition, as well as against Leicester in the FA Cup last season, Tottenham were punished for fielding a weakened team.

Another reason to get that back-up striker in...
