Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak has acknowledged Arsenal’s interest in him but says he is focussed on doing his job in Seville, FourFourTwo reports.
The Poland international midfielder has experienced a wonderful couple of years at Sevilla, winning back-to-back Europa League titles and challenging near the top in La Liga.
When quizzed on the links to the Gunners, Krychowiak admitted that the speculation isn't unknown to him but he stresses the importance of focusing his intentions on his job with Sevilla.
“I've heard about Arsenal, but I leave it to my agent. I trust him and he's the one who deals with that kind of the stuff. I can’t think about things like that,” he explained.
“I have to keep my mind free of any distraction and just focus on doing my job for Sevilla.”
Amid Arsenal’s current growing injury list – especially in midfield – an addition in the mould of Krychowiak would significantly boost their bid to win the Premier League title this season.
Arsene Wenger’s men currently top the league, and with rivals Manchester United and Chelsea faltering so badly it appears the Gunners may not have a better chance of ending their wait for success.
However, many have cited their midfield as a potential weak area and with Francis Coquelin ruled out with injury until February/March, Arsenal have a tricky month or two in store if they opt not to make a new signing.
