Roberto Martinez has admitted at his press conference this afternoon that Everton duo Aiden McGeady and Darron Gibson have been disappointed with his team selections so far this season.
McGeady and Gibson have both struggled for appearances this campaign, with other options jumping ahead of them in the pecking order.
RM confirms interest in Gibson and McGeady: "It's been disappointing for them to not get minutes as they have been training well." #EFC— Everton (@Everton) January 8, 2016
Derby County and Middlesbrough are both said to be interested in the duo by The Times, with the Championship promotion rivals set to do battle for the pair.
Both Derby and Boro are keen to strengthen their squads to ensure that they are Premier League clubs next season.
The addition of either McGeady or Gibson would be a real statement of intent, despite their lack of first team appearances this season.
The pair are both proven in the Premier League, and they have international experience - having played for the Republic of Ireland.
Gibson has made five appearances for Everton this season, while McGeady has only played once.
