Report: Celtic keen to extend Tom Rogic contract amid interest from English clubs

Celtic want to keep Tom Rogic.

Celtic plan to extend Tom Rogic's contract, report the Scottish Sun, and have opened talks with the Australian.

Rogic, 23, has a deal which is set to expire in June 2017, and the report claims there is interest in him from more than one English club.

The Australian has had a superb season, bouncing back from a succession of injuries which made him a forgotten figure in 2014/15.

He has done enough to show why Celtic bought him in 2013, and is only scratching the surface on his potential.

Celtic moved shrewdly to invest in him, and have been patient for him to finally find the form he has this season, and they are finally being rewarded.

It would be a kick in the teeth if he were to demand a move in the summer or walk away on a free transfer in 18 months time, and so it is important on the club's part to ensure they can extend his deal as quickly as possible.

This could also have a positive effect on Rogic's performances, giving him security over his future and preventing his head from being turned, and if they can get it done before the transfer window closes, then all the better.
