Report: Brentford to offer new contract to Alan Judge

Brentford midfielder Alan Judge has been linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday in the January transfer window.

Brentford are planning to offer Alan Judge a new contract, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported by the British newspaper that Brentford want to tie down the midfielder to a long-term contract in order to fend off interest in him.

The Mirror claims that Sheffield Wednesday made a bid for the 27-year-old earlier this week, but it was rejected as it was well short of the club’s £6 million valuation mark.

Judge has been in superb form for Brentford so far this season and has been one of the best players in the Championship.

The former Republic of Ireland Under-23 international has scored nine goal and created 59 chances in 23 league games for the Bees so far this campaign.

The 27-year-old has a pass accuracy of 85% and a shot accuracy of 45%, and has won eight headers, 14 dribbles and 29 tackles.

Brentford are 10th in the Championship table at the moment with 36 points from 25 matches, five points behind sixth-placed Ipswich Town.

Meanwhile, Wednesday current find themselves seventh in the standings with 39 points from 25 games, just two points off the playoffs.
