Paul Robinson picks goal v Villa as favourite West Brom memory on Twitter

The 37-year-old Birmingham City defender took to social media to discuss his West Brom playing days.

Birmingham City left-back Paul Robinson says his favourite memory from his days at West Brom came when he scored a header against Aston Villa.

The defender is naturally fond of the 'great escape,' when the Baggies defied all odds to fight off relegation under the management of Bryan Robson.

And the former West Brom man took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon expressing fondness for his days at the Hawthorns. But scoring against Villa, in particular, was a highlight for the veteran:

It will probably delight Birmingham fans as well as West Brom supporters to hear the 37-year-old's favourite Baggies memory came against Aston Villa.

The 'great escape' didn't prevent West Brom from going down later on but every year spent in the Premier League helped form the club that graces the top flight these days.

The Baggies look a solid bet to stay up, unlike Aston Villa - or Birmingham, who have to get to the top division in the first place.

West Brom face Bristol City in the FA Cup this weekend, while Villa travel to Wycombe and Birmingham host Bournemouth.
