Liverpool fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the reported interest in Mario Gotze.
According to German publication Bild, Liverpool want to sign Gotze from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window.
The Germany international has been on the books of Bayern since 2013 and has a contract until June 2017.
The 23-year-old midfielder played under current Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund. During his time at BVB, Gotze established himself as one of the best young players in Europe.
However, the 2014 World Cup winner has failed to take his game to the next level at Bayern and is not guaranteed a place in Pep Guardiola’s starting lineup.
The 23-year-old has been able to feature in only seven Bundesliga games for Bayern so far this season, having also suffered with injuries.
Gotze has scored one goal, created 10 chances, has a pass accuracy of 88% and a shot accuracy of 40%, and has won three headers, 14 dribbles and four tackles.

I'd imagine it'd be curtains for Lallana if Gotze comes. Massive upgrade. Still need a proper winger though also #LFC— Brad Hunter (@Bradthelucas21) January 8, 2016
