James Vaughan has expressed his delight on social media site Twitter after Birmingham City agreed to extend his loan until the end of the season.
The Huddersfield Town striker had originally been scheduled to spend a month at St. Andrews, but his performances have impressed Gary Rowett.
Although Vaughan has not scored in any of his first six appearances for the Blues, he has still contributed a great deal in their recent matches.
And the striker was pleased to have agreed a longer term stay with his hometown club.
Also a massive thank you to everyone @htafcdotcom for all the great memories over the past few years. Wish you all the best in the future!— James Vaughan (@vaughany08) January 8, 2016
Vaughan has helped Birmingham pick up two wins in the six matches he has played for them, and he has received his most consistent run of games throughout the entire campaign.
The former Norwich City man had appeared to have fallen way down the pecking order at Huddersfield prior to his move to the Midlands, and he only played four times for the Terriers over the first few months of the season.
As a result, he is still looking to regain some match sharpness, which will only come with game time.
Vaughan is likely to form part of a new look attacking set-up at Birmingham, following Demarai Gray’s departure to Leicester City.
Rowett is thought to be on the hunt for more forward players in January, following the loss of his prized prospect.
