Forrester linked up with Rangers earlier this transfer window, and he has told a press conference that Mark Warburton’s playing style was what convinced him to switch to Ibrox.
HF: Mark plays football the way I like to play. Gets the ball down, passes and moves. It ticked all the boxes for me to come here.— Rangers FC (@RangersFC) January 8, 2016
This is the third time that Forrester, 25, has linked up with Warburton during his career. Having been part of Watford’s academy whilst Warburton was youth coach, he then joined up with the manager when working at Brentford, to now work together at Ibrox.
Forrester arriving is another example of Warburton raiding the English lower leagues for players who have never truly excelled, but the attacking midfielder is well regarded for his potential, and it could be the current Gers boss gets the best out of him.
Being an attacking midfielder, Forrester loves the technical side of the game, and he has admitted that signing for Rangers was an easy decision due to the style of play that Warburton utilises.
Rangers have won a lot of praise for the football they have been playing this season, and Forrester was convinced to sign due to this very reason.
The new signing has also admitted as to what he knew about signing for the Gers before he put pen to paper. He was aware that moving to one of the big two teams in Scotland would be a move that brings increased attention, but he claims he is well up to handling such a role.
