Well-known Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague suggested on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning (January 8) that Real Madrid are not interested in signing striker Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
However, Balague suggested that Madrid could try to bring in winger Eden Hazard from Chelsea at the end of the season.
The Spanish football expert also claimed that the 10-time European champions could make a move for Manchester United and Spain international goalkeeper David de Gea in the summer.
“I wouldn’t go too far on that, but something is going to happen this summer,” said Balague when asked about speculation linking Kane with Madrid in the summer transfer window. “Real Madrid feel that they may be banned for two transfer windows by FIFA, essentially like Barcelona.
“That would be perhaps either this summer or, the most optimists at Real Madrid think, could be the next winter, which gives them this summer the chance to change the side completely, which means that they will try to sell some of the big assets they have got, including (Karim) Benzema, Cristiano (Ronaldo) and bring new ones.”
“Perhaps they will try (to sign) Hazard, (Robert) Lewandowski, David de Gea,” added Balague.
Kane is one of the best young strikers in the Premier League and has been in superb form so far this season. The 22-year-old has scored 11 goals and created 21 chances in 20 league games this campaign.
The Telegraph recently claimed that Madrid want to sign the England international striker in the summer transfer window.
Hazard is one of the best players in the world, but he has not been playing well this season. The Belgium international, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, has created 45 chances in 19 Premier League games for Chelsea this campaign.
As for De Gea, the United star is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and has done quite well for the Red Devils so far this term.
