Aston Villa midfielder Gary Gardner has reacted with great excitement after it was announced that he would be rejoining Nottingham Forest on loan until the end of the season earlier today.
Gardner spent the back end of last season with the Reds and he impressed hugely during his time at the City Ground.
The central midfielder was expected to have a big part to play at Villa this campaign, but a managerial change at Villa Park and an injury has thwarted his progress.
Gardner has not played at all for the Claret and Blues this season, and he now cannot wait to get back on the pitch at Forest.
Gardner rejected a move to Leeds United to move to Forest, as reported by HITC, such is his love for Dougie Freedman’s side.
Gardner has consistently tweeted encouraging messages on social media since his loan spell at Forest expired - expressing delight at their victories and frustration at their losses.
The 23-year-old is expected to go straight into Forest’s first team following his arrival, and he could play against Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup tomorrow.
