Everton confirmed the arrival of Shani Tarashaj yesterday.
The Swiss Under-21 international heads back on loan to Grasshopper for the remainder of this season, the club with whom he has scored eight goals in 18 games this season.
Regarded as one of Switzerland’s most talented youngsters, the 20-year-old is naturally a second striker, although he can also lead the line, or play out wide in a wing position.
Capped at every youth level from Under-15 upwards, Tarashaj currently turns out for his country’s Under-21 side, scoring five goals in eight appearances, and he is pushing for inclusion in the senior squad for this summers European Championship.
The Toffees managed to agree his signing yesterday after a short transfer battle in the opening days of the window, with Tarashaj agreeing a four-and-a-half year deal with the Goodison Park outfit.
He is another exciting youngster who heads to the Blue half of Merseyside, and following the completion of the deal, Everton fans took to Twitter to react to the transfer of Tarashaj in positive terms
I'd expect Tarashaj to come straight into our 1st team squad next season. I doubt he'll start too many but should be good enough for bench.— On The Carpet (@EvertonNSNO) January 7, 2016

Hadn't even heard of Tarashaj before we were linked with him, but £3m for a versatile Swiss U21 international seems like good business. #efc— Joe Strange (@joe_strange) January 7, 2016
