Liverpool have recalled Sheyi Ojo from his loan spell at Wolves amid a mounting injury crisis.
It was Ojo's second loan of his career, after a spell with Wigan Athletic at the end of last season.
The winger could feature as soon as this weekend against Exeter City in the FA Cup, and his return is well timed, with the Liverpool Echo reporting midweek match winner Jordon Ibe has suffered a hamstring injury, the seventh member of the squad to do so in the past few weeks.
Ojo made 19 appearances for Championship side Wolves, scoring three times, and providing four assists, with the pick of his strikes coming against Birmingham City early on in the campaign.
As well as those highs, Ojo has also had spells where he has struggled, and he has not completed 90 minutes in a single Championship game this season, with 12 of his displays coming from the bench.
Wolves would like to thank @sheyi_ojo and wish him all the very best for the future.— Wolves (@OfficialWolves) January 7, 2016
While Wolves wished him well, the reaction of fans to his departure told it's own story, that Liverpool supporters should not get too excited about him making an immediate, or sustained impact on their side.
Here is a look at the reaction via Twitter...
Ojo was an extremely poor signing. Nowhere near ready for a 46 game championship season in a team supposedly going for promotion. #WWFC— Jay Sahadew (@jayster990) January 7, 2016
Thanks for being at Craven Cottage if nothing else, Ojo. #WWFC— Daniel Clayton (@Clayton_330) January 7, 2016
