According to a report in the Italian editorial Tuttomercatoweb, Liverpool have made contact for Ludogorets Razgard star Georgi Terziev.
The Bulgaria international defender has featured against the Reds in the past, scoring a late equaliser as the two teams played out a 2-2 draw in last season’s Champions League.
Terziev is widely regarded as one of the club’s outstanding players, featuring regularly for the club and earning international recognition with five caps to his name thus far.
His representatives are the same of recent Liverpool signing Marko Grujic, prompting the ensuing speculation and reports in Italy suggesting a deal could be on the cards.
“Liverpool have made contact for Georgi Terziev, defender of property of Ludogorets. The entourage of the player is the same as new Reds signing Marko Grujic,” the report reads.
Liverpool are in the midst of an injury crisis at present, causing boss Jurgen Klopp to look towards his side’s younger players for their upcoming FA Cup clash this weekend.
With Mamadou Sakho, Dejan Lovren, Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure all nursing injuries, Portuguese youngster Tiago Llori has been recalled from Aston Villa and is set to feature this weekend.
Klopp needs reinforcements, and Terziev seemingly fits the bill as the 23-year-old has top-level experience and wouldn’t cost the club too much in terms of a fee or wages.
The former Chernomorets ace signed a four-year deal with Ludogorets in 2013, and has subsequently helped his club capture a domestic league and cup double.
