Nacer Chadli is aiming to get more involved in the Tottenham side over the coming weeks.
Nacer Chadli has told Tottenham Hotspur's official website he is aiming to get more involved with the first team over the coming weeks.
The Belgian international picked up an injury in October, and despite returning to the side in early December it has been tough going since.
After playing 28 minutes of a Europa League tie against Monaco on his comeback, he has featured in five games since - but in each of them he has featured for no more than nine minutes.
He is expected to play a more prominent role this weekend as Tottenham take on Leicester City in the FA Cup, and could make his first start in three months. Whether he retains his place for the Premier League clash between the two teams days later is another matter.
Chadli told the club website he is hoping to get back involved: "The team is doing very well and I’m very pleased with that because I want to be part of a strong team.
"This is a big club, we have a lot of good players but there are a lot of games coming soon so hopefully I will get some more game time."
Chadli's absence has been a blow for Tottenham in recent weeks, but they have coped admirably without him, and head coach Mauricio Pochettino deserves credit for using his sparingly.
He has in the process increased his motivation to kick on, and the Belgian could be a very important player between now and the end of the season.
