Tommaso Bianchi is yet to make an appearance for Leeds United this season due to injury.
Bianchi has missed the entire season so far with injury, but he is close to making a comeback to fitness - after playing for the Whites’ development side in recent weeks and working hard in training.
Bianchi is likely to be involved in Leeds’ match-day squad for their FA Cup match against Rotherham United on Saturday, but Evans admits that the midfielder’s future at Elland Road is in doubt.
“Bianchi has worked really hard post injury, and he has played really well in the under-21’s,” Evans said. “But Tomasso is a player who might have an opportunity to move in this window.
“That doesn’t meant that he won’t play a part. When you get him on the ball he can pass it, and he’s a fantastic professional. We’ll let him get on with his job, and then we’ll see what happens over the next couple of weeks.”
Bianchi was brought to Leeds in the summer of 2014, and he made a decent impression during his first campaign with the Yorkshire club.
The Italian played 26 times for the Whites last season, and he developed a reputation as an excellent distributor of the football.
His injury does seem to have harmed his progress though, and he has now slipped down the pecking order.
With Liam Bridcutt already extending his loan from Sunderland until the end of the season, Evans is well stocked in central midfield, and it seems that Bianchi could be set to make an exit in the near future.
