According to a report in the Express & Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on signing Colchester United midfielder George Moncur.
Moncur has been one of the stand out players in League One over the past two seasons, despite Colchester’s poor form.
The U’s are currently sitting in 23rd spot in England’s third tier, but Moncur has still impressed with his performances in midfield.
The 22-year-old has netted nine times in 28 appearances this season across all competitions.
Kenny Jackett has already shown a willingness to sign players from the lower divisions. After all, he brought the likes of Nathan Byrne and Jed Wallace to Molineux in the summer transfer window after they had impressed at Swindon Town and Portsmouth respectively.
And now it seems that Moncur could follow in the pair’s footsteps, as Wolves reportedly feel they can do a deal in the coming weeks.
The Midlands club may have to compete with Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town for the midfielder’s signature though, as they have also been linked.
