The Midlands outfit have reportedly enquired about loaning the Spurs winger... which has helped repair a few bridges.
If you can't imagine Andros Townsend as a peacemaker, think again. Well, an indirect peacemaker.
Relations were said to have soured between the two clubs after Tottenham's failed move for Saido Berahino in August. Both Daniel Levy and Jeremy Peace have stood firm and not changed their stances since.
But the Standard report that West Brom's bid to loan Townsend has brought the two clubs closer together, perhaps even paving the way for any future Berahino negotiations.
Should the north London side want to do any particular business with the Baggies, could they give Tony Pulis's side priority when it comes to Townsend's destination?
West Brom are said to want the 24-year-old on loan and such a move could work out well for both the Midlands outfit and Spurs.
Tottenham will no doubt be looking to offload Townsend on a permanent basis eventually but a loan move could be a good start - some game time could raise his value.
