Report: Tottenham stall on Berahino move due to worries over attitude

The West Brom forward's value has come down perfectly for Tottenham... but they are now having second thoughts.

Tottenham Hotspur are stalling on a bid for Saido Berahino due to worries over the West Brom striker's attitude, according to the London evening Standard.

Indeed, Berahino's value has come down perfectly for Tottenham due to the 22-year-old's lack of goals and game time.

But that coincides with the north London side expressing doubt over whether he is really their man.

The Standard report that Tottenham feel the Baggies youngster could disturb the harmony within Mauricio Pochettino's squad.

And it's an approach few would be surprised by. Ever since August's Deadline Day fiasco, a number of Spurs fans have expressed their view that Berahino's attitude could be detrimental at White Hart Lane.

It'll be interesting to see how West Brom continue to deal with the 22-year-old. At this rate, he won't be making them a huge profit and nor will he be contributing goals at the Hawthorns.

That suggests Jeremy Peace should simply have sold up in the summer transfer window but things are never that clearcut.

Tottenham, too, could end up without a back-up striker. And, if that costs them a place in the top four, West Brom won't be the only losers in this situation.
