The West Brom forward's value has come down perfectly for Tottenham... but they are now having second thoughts.
Indeed, Berahino's value has come down perfectly for Tottenham due to the 22-year-old's lack of goals and game time.
But that coincides with the north London side expressing doubt over whether he is really their man.
And it's an approach few would be surprised by. Ever since August's Deadline Day fiasco, a number of Spurs fans have expressed their view that Berahino's attitude could be detrimental at White Hart Lane.
It'll be interesting to see how West Brom continue to deal with the 22-year-old. At this rate, he won't be making them a huge profit and nor will he be contributing goals at the Hawthorns.
That suggests Jeremy Peace should simply have sold up in the summer transfer window but things are never that clearcut.
Tottenham, too, could end up without a back-up striker. And, if that costs them a place in the top four, West Brom won't be the only losers in this situation.
