Report: Sheffield Wednesday looking to make three additions in January

Sheffield Wednesday - The Owls

Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with a whole host of players already.

According to a report in the Sheffield Telegraph, Sheffield Wednesday are aiming to sign a centre back, a defensive midfielder and a striker in January.

Wednesday are on the verge of breaking into the play-off places, and Carlos Carvalhal is eager to strengthen his squad to ensure that they make it into the top six.

The Owls have money to spend over the coming weeks, and they are reportedly looking to bring in three new players.

Wednesday have so far targeted proven Championship players, who have been in form this season.

Carvalhal’s side attempted to sign Nick Blackman from Reading, but he moved to Derby County instead, while they have also had bids for Brentford’s Alan Judge turned down, according to Sky Sports.

Wednesday are also looking to sign Mike Williamson from Newcastle United, as per the Sheffield Telegraph, but they face competition from Wolverhampton Wanderers for the experienced centre back.

The Owls are also reportedly tracking Bolton Wanderers forward Zach Clough, as they seek to add a further injection of quality.
