The Serbian has struggled at Anfield, but he wants to prove himself.
The talented but inconsistent starlet struggled in his debut term at Anfield, especially when asked to play in an unfamiliar wing-back role.
Brendan Rodgers therefore sent him out on loan to Turkish football, despite the club already being short in wide options.
He joined Fenerbahce on a loan deal for the season and he has played 13 times for the club - scoring once, against Celtic in the Europa League.
There have been reports this week, including one from talkSPORT, that Fener want to sign Markovic permanently this month.
Now a Turkish report has shed more light on the situation.
Spor3 are reporting that Markovic is enjoying his time in Istanbul but is not willing to give up on his time with Liverpool.
However he is also said to be happy with potentially staying at the Turkish club for another season, but only on loan.
So it seems that no permanent deal will be going ahead for the player, although an extension to the loan is potentially on the cards.
It is likely to depend on whether Jurgen Klopp fancies taking him on board next season.
