Ray Clemence sends message to West Brom & Southampton goalkeepers on Twitter

A boost for the Baggies and the Saints was recognised by the ex-England goalkeeper.

Former England goalkeeper Ray Clemence was pleased to see West Brom shot stopper Ben Foster and Southampton's Fraser Forster back in action on Wednesday.

The two made encouraging steps towards their return from long-term injures (they have not yet returned for their first teams) and Clemence is happy to see the duo progress during their comebacks.

Foster and Forster have both been England goalkeepers, of course, and West Brom & Southampton have felt their absences.

Interestingly, the two teams have actually been lucky in that those to have deputised have done very well. But, in your biggest moments, you want your biggest players.

When Foster and Forster return to full fitness, England will benefit as much as West Brom and Southampton. Joe Hart and Jack Butland look to be in strong form heading into the Euro 2016 finals.

But throwing the Baggies and Saints goalkeepers into the mix will truly solidify the shot stopping department for the Three Lions during a calendar year that holds a major tournament.

The only problem is that only one can play for the national side at a time!
