Rangers have agreed to sign Matt Crooks and Josh Windass from Accrington.

Rangers confirmed on their official website on Wednesday evening that Accrington duo Matt Crooks and Josh Windass have both penned pre-contract agreements with the club.

The Gers moved quickly to snap up Polish goalkeeper Maciej Gostomski and Doncaster winger Harry Forrester in the opening days of the transfer window, and manager Mark Warburton has been busy again.

After plenty of speculation, Rangers confirmed on their official website on Wednesday evening that Accrington duo Matt Crooks and Josh Windass will be joining the club in the summer.

21-year-old central midfielder Crooks has impressed for Accrington this season, chipping in with seven goals for John Coleman's side, whilst playmaker Windass - also 21 - has hit 11 goals in the first half of the season, becoming one of League Two's most promising players.

The problem for Accrington was that both players are out of contract at the end of the season, and Rangers have capitalised on that by sealing pre-contract agreements with both players, meaning they will pay just a nominal compensation fee when the players arrive in the summer.

After the announcement was made by Rangers, fans took to Twitter to give their verdicts on the newest signings, with a positive opinion all around, with many supporters delighted to land two young, up-and-coming players.

Others were still keen to see both players arrive this month if Rangers can negotiate an immediate deal with Accrington, whilst some still want some more signings, such as Latvian striker Vladislavs Gutkovskis, who was on trial with the club last month.
