Two days ago it was reported by the Daily Star that Southampton were ready to step up their interest in Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena.

The central midfielder is well known to Koeman from his time managing Feyenoord and would be seen as an excellent addition in the central midfield position - especially with rumours rumbling on regarding Victor Wanyama's future.

Vilhena is a 21-year-old talent who has played 22 times for the Dutch under-21 outfit and is considered one of the country's hottest prospects.

Southampton have been linked with him before so it is no surprise to see his name pop up again and a deal would not appear any more likely now then it did in the summer.

Until today that is.

As Vilhena has been involved in a very public spat with a team-mate during training for Feyenoord.

Pictures have emerged today of Vilhena and Feyenoord team-mate Miquel Nelom getting into a major altercation, with Vilhena even seen to kick Nelom in the midrift.

The situation was eventually calmed down by manager Gio van Bronckhorst - but not before it was all caught on camera.

If Southampton are genuinely serious about the player, now might be the perfect time to strike.
