Watford striker admits he could not turn down Manchester United.

Odion Ighalo has admitted he would find it hard to turn down the chance to move to Manchester United.

The prolific Nigerian striker is quoted by the Evening Standard admitting he did not expect to leave Watford this month, but that if United were to come calling, he could change his mind.

He said: "I don’t think I will be moving but I’m not sure I’d say no if United called. They were my team growing up. I loved watching Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke on TV.

“They were my idols and playing at Old Trafford has always been a dream."

Ighalo scored 30 goals in league competition in the 2015 calendar year, 16 in the Championship and 14 in the Premier League.

Wayne Rooney netted just six in the top flight all year, a paltry amount for a striker on his wages.

Ighalo would from a footballing perspective be a good signing, but the problem United would face is that he will be over priced due to his recent success.

Watford will be reluctant to sell, and know United have money, and the Red Devils would be looking at a fee of around £20 million to land the forward - potentially more if the Hornets dig their heels in.

Here is a look at how Manchester United fans reacted to his comments...
