Liverpool reportedly make their interest in Raphael Guerreiro known

Liverpool could be in for a busy January with reports linking them with another young player.

According to a report from French newspaper L’Equipe, Liverpool could follow up their signing of Marko Grujic with a move for Lorient left-back Raphael Guerreiro.

The Reds secured a deal for Grujic earlier this week but manager Jurgen Klopp could see this month as vital as he bids to build a side that can challenge for a top-four finish in the second half of the campaign.

While Alberto Moreno is Liverpool’s current left-back of choice they are relatively light in that position and a move for Guerreiro – who can also play on the wing – would make sense.

This season the 22-year-old has switched between his two positions playing nine matches in an attacking role and six in Lorient’s back-line and with a contract that expires in the summer of 2017, a good bid from Liverpool this month could tempt the French side to do business.

L’Equipe claims that as yet Liverpool have not made an offer but that Guerreiro’s side have been made aware of the Reds’ interest.

Guerreiro has scored one goal and provided one assist in 18 matches so far this season and he has a total of eight goals and seven assists in 88 games for Lorient.
