Fraser Forster has missed the whole of the season so far with injury.
Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster has expressed his delight on social media after making his long awaited comeback from injury yesterday.
Forster played 90 minutes for Southampton’s under-21 side and kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over Chelsea.
Ryan Seager scored the Saints’ goal in the contest, but it was Forster’s return which grabbed the headlines, and the England international stopper was delighted to be back.
Forster has missed the entirety of the season so far, after picking up a serious knee injury back in March 2015.
The 27-year-old was in fine form for Southampton’s development side yesterday however, and he put in an eye catching performance on his return.
Forster’s absence has been keenly felt at St. Mary’s with none of their covering choices being of the same quality.
Although the likes of Maarten Stekelenburg, Paulo Gazzaniga and Kelvin Davis have all had stints between the sticks, none of the trio have looked entirely secure, and Forster’s return will be hugely welcomed by Ronald Koeman.
