ESPN pundit discusses Tottenham’s football

Paul Mariner is impressed with Tottenham Hotspur’s football this season.

Former Arsenal forward Paul Mariner said on the ESPN FC show on BT Sport/ESPN on Tuesday afternoon (January 5) that he has been impressed with the football played by Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Mariner, who played for Arsenal in the 1980s, reluctantly made the admission following Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Everton away from home at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

“The type of football that they played, the attacking football away from home, with controlled possession, fantastic out of possession, it kills me to say about Tottenham as an ex-Arsenal boy, they play some beautiful stuff,” said the former England international.

Tottenham are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 36 points from 20 matches.

Spurs are just six points behind leaders and North London rivals Arsenal in the standings, and they are very much in the running for the league title.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been very consistent this season and have lost just twice in the league.

Tottenham’s football has been very entertaining and exciting to watch, with the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane showing their quality.

The North London outfit have scored 34 goals, conceded 16 and created 237 chances in the league.
