Aston Villa confirmed on their official website that winger Adama Traore has been ruled out for up to two months with a broken bone in his foot.
Traore, 19, joined Villa from La Liga giants Barcelona over the summer, and was seen as a huge coup for Villa having come up through the famed La Masia academy.
The winger, who has blistering pace as well as dangerous dribbling ability, has had a slow start to life in the Premier League, and has been used sparingly under Remi Garde.
He has though shown flashes of his raw ability, having danced through the Sunderland defence before crossing for Carles Gil's outstanding goal last weekend.
However, Villa have now announced on their official website that Traore suffered an injury in that game, and will be out for up to two months with a broken bone in his foot.
Fans have been reacting on Twitter ever since the news broke, and there was a unanimous feeling that Villa's season is just going from bad to worse with this latest blow.
Supporters were clearly downbeat with the new about Traore's injury, suggesting that he was one of the few players to bring some excitement to the ranks, and manager Garde should have been using him more before his injury.
Here are some of the reactions from Villa fans after Traore was ruled out for up to two months...
Adama Traore out for 8-10 weeks with broken bone in foot. Any slivers of positivity for #AVFC this season have been swiftly crushed.— Sam Tighe (@stighefootball) January 7, 2016

With Adama out at least there is an increased chance of him not being snapped up and him helping us gain promotion next season. #AVFC— JustGetItOverWith (@Villa_bloke) January 7, 2016
