Tottenham Hotspur are said to be in talks regarding the potential exit of one of their centre-backs.
The 28-year-old Argentine has featured for Spurs just once this season – in a Capital One Cup clash against Arsenal – and with only five other selections for match-day squads this campaign (all as an unused substitute) it would be no surprise to see him move on this month.
That said, the latest report from ABC claims that while Sevilla have bid to bring Fazio back to La Liga, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is not happy with their initial offer and negotiations are ongoing.
Fazio played 197 times for Sevilla before moving to White Hart Lane in 2014, but with Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld forming an outstanding defensive partnership, and Kevin Wimmer arriving last summer, the older player’s time appears to be running out.
The report goes on to suggest that while Sevilla want Fazio they are also considering alternatives, so Levy may not want to hold out for too much money or risk losing the offer altogether.
