According to a report in the Daily Mail, Everton are to complete the signing of Grasshopper Zurich striker Shani Tarashaj in the next 24 hours.
The Toffees are keen on strengthening their attacking options this month as boss Roberto Martinez seeks more firepower in his bid to move the club up the table.
Tarashaj, 20, is currently plying his trade with Grasshoppers in Switzerland having come through the club’s youth ranks before making his official debut for the club in 2014.
The youngster has a decent goal scoring record in Zurich, and his promising displays have caught the attentions of Everton who are reportedly on the verge of finalising a deal for his services.
“Everton, meanwhile, expect to complete a £3m deal for Grasshopper Zurich striker Shani Tarashaj in the next 24 hours,” the Daily Mail reports.
Tarashaj can be described as a tricky striker boasting plenty of skill, pace and movement in the final third.
Born to Albanian parents, he has represented Switzerland from U17 level upwards and has found the net on a regular basis, with five goals in eight appearances for the U21 side.
Everton may not see him as the ideal man to partner regular striker Romelu Lukaku right now, yet the youngster has plenty of potential and the ability to make a telling contribution.
The Merseyside outfit currently occupy 11th place in the Premier League table, nine points adrift of the top four.
