According to a report in The Sun, Lyon have informed Alexandre Lacazette of Newcastle United’s interest in him but he isn't keen on the switch.
Newcastle submitted an ambitious £19 million bid for the French forward this morning, and the offer was so large that Lyon told the striker of the Premier League outfit’s intention to sign him.
Lacazette was reportedly unimpressed after discovering the information of Newcastle’s bid though, as he has his sights set on a move to a better placed club.
Newcastle are currently in the Premier League’s relegation zone, and Lacazette apparently feels he has the ability to play at a higher level.
As a result, the French striker is unenthused by the prospect of a move to St. James’ Park - making Newcastle’s chances of landing him look very slim.
Lacazette has scored eight times in 24 appearances this term, and he is regarded as one of the most dangerous front men in European football.
The 24-year-old has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal in Daily Star in the past, and a move to a a title-chasing English side looks more likely to happen, than a switch to Tyneside, as things stand.
