As confirmed by the official QPR website, Chris Ramsey returned to Loftus Road yesterday in the position of Technical Director.
The former head coach is back at the club for the first time since November, when he was sacked from his role in the first-team.
His new position is to oversee the coaching and development in the academy system, to ease the passage between youth football and first-team football.
It is the same type of role as Ramsey was in during his years of service with Tottenham Hotspur, when he was in charge of player development, with the club benefitting from his work currently.
Speaking after Ramsey’s return, Director of Football Les Ferdinand spoke highly of the 53-year-old, praising his talents in the academy.
Ferdinand said: “Whilst we were disappointed things didn’t work out with Chris at First Team level earlier in the season, we were determined to retain his services at QPR. Chris knows Academy football inside-out, he can come in and make an instant impact in an environment he has helped build.”
Following the confirmation of Ramsey’s return to the West London club, QPR fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the former head coach linking up with the side.
There are a range of mixed emotions, with some people questioning his return, and others claiming it is a brilliant move by QPR.

Chris Ramsey is back as director. I swear QPR is the only club where you can do a bad job, get fired, then get re-employed with a promotion!— Sean Nolan (@WOFSET) January 5, 2016
Good to see Chris Ramsey back at #QPR, but why couldn't they have moved him to the position straight away?— Richard Amofa (@RichardAmofa) January 5, 2016
Chris Ramsey's appointment mystifies me? Not going to berate the powers that be but.........#QPR— Live Wire (@LiveWire424) January 5, 2016
I'm pleased Chris Ramsey is back at QPR. I think he has a lot to offer especially for the younger players.— hoop (@Prem2014) January 5, 2016
As messy as QPR is/was, Chris Ramsey was part of a youth system at Spurs that produced more players than #QPR has produced in many years.— MJJeremiah (@Nelsonrow80) January 5, 2016
