The new Liverpool player has been chatting following his move.
Grujic signed from Red Star Belgrade and will spend the rest of the season on loan at his now-former club, and while Liverpool fans will have to watch him from afar in the short term he has given them a hint of what he will ultimately bring to Jurgen Klopp’s side.
“I play in midfield and can play as a defensive, central or attacking midfielder,” he said. “I try a lot to shoot during games, like a box-to-box midfielder.
“I think I can improve my defensive qualities but I think it will be okay.”
At just 19, Liverpool’s newest addition has plenty of time to work out the kinks in his game; not that he needs to worry when it comes to his attacking play.
So far this season Grujic has scored five goals and provided seven assists in 22 matches for Red Star and he now has the chance to show Klopp he deserves a first-team place next season by heading back to Serbia with even more reason to impress.
Grujic’s arrival is unlikely to be the end of Liverpool’s January transfer business but that is provided Klopp can get the right players for the right prices.
