Burnley midfielder Joey Barton spoke highly of Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish on The Monday Night Club on BBC Radio 5 live on Monday evening (January 4).
“I think he is a really, really good player,” said Barton. “I think he is in a poor side. I don’t think he is ready for this Euros, but maybe the World Cup beyond it.”
Grealish has been at Villa his entire career and is rated as a very good young player.
The youngster has scored one goal and created 10 chances, has a pass accuracy of 85% and a shot accuracy of 57%, and has won one header, 21 dribbles and five tackles.
Grealish has not been playing great this season, but he has shown glimpses of his talent.
Villa are struggling for survival in the Premier League and are likely to go down to the Championship at the end of the season.
It is not easy for a player as young as Grealish to do well for a team struggling at the foot of the table.
