Arsenal legend Ian Wright said on the Matchday Live with Fletch & Sav show on BT Sport 1 on Saturday morning (January 2) that Crystal Palace should make a move for Chelsea striker Loic Remy in the January transfer window.
“That (signing Remy) would be brilliant,” said the former Palace striker. “Wilfried (Zaha) and Yannick (Bolasie) are playing brilliantly, (Jason) Puncheon is doing his stuff.
“I think that if they have got a forward who can be up front with the same kind of athleticism and dynamism, that could see them over the line (in terms of European finish) because he can score goals.”
Remy joined Chelsea from Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2014, but he has failed to establish himself as a first-choice striker for the Blues.
The 29-year-old France international striker scored seven goals and created five chances in 19 Premier League appearances last season.
So far this campaign, the former Newcastle United loanee has scored just one goal and created only two chances in eight league games for Chelsea.
Palace are playing well at the moment and are aiming to finish in the top six of the Premier League this season.
Alan Pardew’s side are seventh in the league table at the moment with 31 points from 20 matches.
The Eagles are just two points behind fifth-placed Manchester United and only five points behind Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently fourth and occupy the final Champions League spot.
