Stephen Warnock has taken to social media site Twitter to welcome Nick Blackman to Derby County.
Blackman has penned a three-and-a-half year deal at the iPro Stadium, after completing a move from Reading yesterday.
The attacker is expected to go straight in Derby’s first team, and Warnock knows the 26-year-old better than most of the Rams players.
The pair were together at Blackburn Rovers earlier in their respective careers, and the experienced defender is delighted to have the opportunity to link back up with Blackman.
Blackman joins a Derby team already packed with talent, and he faces a fight to win a place in their first team.
The Rams have been in excellent form this season, but Paul Clement clearly felt that they needed an injection of firepower.
Blackman is Derby’s second addition of the January transfer window, following the arrival of Abdoul Camara from Angers earlier in the week.
Blackman has scored 13 goals in 28 games for Reading so far this season.
