The Arsenal midfielder has been in sensational form for his side this season.
That is twice as many as his nearest competitor, Kevin de Bruyne, and means he is on course to break Thierry Henry’s long-standing record of 20 in a campaign.
He is now fully justifying the big price that Arsene Wenger paid to secure him from Real Madrid in 2013, and Flamini says he is one of the best players he has ever played with.
“We all knew he was a top player but I’m glad he’s proving it every game,” he told arsenal.com.
“He has been giving so many assists and has been making so much difference in the past few games, so it’s a pleasure to play next to him and it’s also a pleasure to watch him on the pitch.”
“His vision is something that you don’t find very often, so he’s easily one of the best players I’ve ever played with.”
While Ozil has been impressive with his assist record, he will need to add goals to his game to truly be up among the world’s elite.
For a player that plays in the number ten role his goalscoring record is not up to scratch, with him only having managed 12 since joining the club.
He has only managed three so far this season, a sub-standard tally for such a key player in a team challenging for the title.
