West Bromwich Albion are said to be keen on another Arsenal player.
According to a report from the Express & Star, West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy on loan this month but are yet to discuss a potential deal with the Gunners.
The update comes as Serge Gnabry returns to the Emirates Stadium following his temporary stint at The Hawthorns; one that saw the young German make only three first-team appearance for the Baggies, featuring for only 12 minutes in the Premier League.
At 30, and with Euro 2016 fast approaching, Debuchy is a very different proposition, and were he to arrive at West Brom he would surely slot almost immediately into manager Tony Pulis’s back-line.
With Gnabry heading back to Arsenal, that would allow another player to swap North London for a loan spell at West Brom, but the Express & Star claims Debuchy has not been mentioned in the negotiations regarding the winger as yet.
There is still plenty of time for a deal to be done, and with West Brom reportedly agreeing to pay Gnabry’s wages for the rest of the season despite his exit, that ongoing good relationship could allow them to get Debuchy ahead of any other potential suitors.
