Leeds United are set to host Rotherham United at the weekend.
Evans has made no secret of his frustration with Leeds’ gruelling schedule, and he is set to use the break from Championship action as a chance to rest some of his key players.
“I’ll freshen it up next week, because of the schedule that the players have come through,” he said.
“There was no spring in my players’ step [against MK Dons]. But what we’ll do is take a bad performance square on the face, but I never faulted their commitment.”
Evans’ words put the chances of Alex Mowatt and Chris Wood playing into doubt, as both are returning from injuries.
Mowatt and Wood have both been carrying knocks over the last week, and it is unlikely that they will be risked.
Other candidates to have time out from the first team are Stuart Dallas, Charlie Taylor and Sam Byram, as all three have played important roles over the past few matches.
When Leeds and Rotherham met earlier in the season, it was the Millers who came out on top.
Rotherham beat the Whites 1-0 at Elland Road, with Joe Newell scoring the winner in a fiercely contested match between the Yorkshire rivals.
