Ray Wilkins explained on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Monday morning (January 4) why Aston Villa will find it tough against Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion.
Villa will face Leicester at Villa Park and West Brom away from home at The Hawthorns in their final two Premier League games this month.
“When you go to local derbies, don’t forget that they are playing a derby as well, the opposition,” said Wilkins. “Leicester are desperate to stay up in the top four. West Brom are creeping up, they had a good win against Stoke at the weekend, so it will be very tough for them.”
Villa are in action this weekend when they take on Wycombe Wanderers away from home at Adams Park in the third round of the FA Cup.
Remi Garde’s side will then face Crystal Palace at Villa Park in the Premier League, before locking horns with Leicester and West Brom.
Leicester are having a fabulous season and will be expected to pick up all three points against the Villans.
The Foxes are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 40 points from 20 matches, just two points behind leaders Arsenal.
West Brom are not entirely out of the relegation battle, but they have started to pick up points. The Baggies have won their last two league matches and will be confident of defeating Villa at home.
