Rangers youngster Gasparotto has spent the season on loan at Morton.
Rangers’ 20-year-old defender Luca Gasparotto has confirmed on Twitter that he is remaining with Morton for the remainder of the season.
Papers signed, delighted to be staying on loan at @Morton_FC until the end of the season. Really enjoying playing and getting experience— Luca Gasparotto (@lucagasparotto3) January 4, 2016
The centre-back, a graduate of the Rangers academy, has played just four times for the Gers, and this spell with Morton is his third loan period away from Ibrox.
After spending time with Stirling Albion and Airdrieonians, Gasparotto made the step up to the Championship at the start of this season, signing until January with Morton.
A Canadian youth international, the youngster has played 15 times for the club this season, starting 11 of their Championship fixtures, and impressing in the heart of the defence.
With his chances of breaking into the Rangers’ first-team in the second half of the season still low, the youngster has opted to extend his deal until the end of the campaign.
He has tweeted his delight at confirming the switch, and another few months of consistent first-team football will be perfect for his development.
Should Gasparotto continue to perform for Morton as he has been doing in the first half of this season, he should find himself in Mark Warburton’s plans at Ibrox next term.
