Spurs have lost just two matches all season, leading to talk of their potential to mount a title push this term.
However, Lloris claims that Spurs’ youthfulness may come back to haunt them as the season progresses.
“We don’t have the maturity of some teams, like City or Arsenal,” the Frenchman said.
“You need experience. You can’t buy it. You need to play games, you need to lose, you need to win.
“We are young, we are talented, we are doing well, there is a great spirit in the team and we are working hard, so everything is positive but we need to go step by step. We will see where we are before the last 10 games but at the moment we want to fight and stay as high as possible in the table.”
So far this season, Tottenham’s youthful exuberance has arguably been their greatest strength.
Spurs’ squad have played without fear, and Mauricio Pochettino has been able to mould his prospects easily.
However, their naivety was exposed in a recent defeat - where they threw away a lead to lose against Newcastle United.
That loss still does not detract from Spurs’ very promising start to the campaign though - with the North London outfit currently sat in fourth place in the Premier League table, three points ahead of their nearest challengers, Manchester United.
