The defender wants his side to stop leaking goals and to start coming away from good performances with results to match.
Newcastle United defender Fabricio Coloccini has urged his side to wake up after a string of narrow defeats over the Christmas period left them in the relegation zone - two points adrift of safety.
Coloccini wants the entire side to continue to work on their defending which is costing the side dear in their fight to avoid the drop.
He told the Chronicle: “When you concede a lot of goals, it’s not just the defence, it’s the whole team.
“It’s the same at the other end.
“If we are not scoring goals it’s because something is wrong too.
“It’s the same again, it’s not just the attackers it is all of the team."
The side came away from their defeat to Arsenal at the weekend with some credit for the way they played but they had nothing to show for their efforts against the league leaders.
After a promising start to December which saw Newcastle take seven points from three games - including victories over Liverpool and Tottenham - the side's form seems to have fizzled out having lost each of their last three games.
Some of the goals they have conceded have been down to individual errors, but it seems to be a call to stay together during times of hardship and start turning good performances into good results on a regular basis - and more importantly - start performing well a lot more consistently rather than turning up against the more difficult sides in the division as seems to be the case lately.
