Carlos Carvalhal on what he mentions all the time to Sheffield Wednesday's players during team talks

Sheffield Wednesday - The Owls

Sheffield Wednesday are currently in seventh place in the Championship table.

Carlos Carvalhal has told the Sheffield Star that he always mentions Sheffield Wednesday’s supporters when issuing team talks to the Owls players.

Wednesday have one of the largest fan bases in the entirety of the Championship, and they have received great backing this season.

Owls supporters have followed their team in large numbers, and Carvalhal wants to make sure that their loyalty is not taken for granted by the playing squad.

“When I talk with the players, I mention the fans all the time to them. We are playing for them," he said.

“When we go on to the pitch, we have to put the fans in our hearts and heads.”

Wednesday supporters currently have more to feel optimistic than they have in a number of years, and they appear to be in with a chance of claiming promotion from the Championship this term.

The Owls have been very difficult to beat under Carvalhal’s stewardship, and they are currently in seventh place.

Wednesday are chasing down the final play off spot in the division, and they are showing great ambition in the January transfer window.

Sky Sports have suggested that Wednesday have had a bid accepted for Reading’s Nick Blackman, while the Daily Mirror have reported that they are interested in Brentford’s Alan Judge.
