Report: QPR keen on Peterborough striker Conor Washington after Les Ferdinand scouting mission

QPR, Birmingham and Wolves are fighting to sign Peterborough’s Conor Washington.

QPR have entered the race to sign Conor Washington following Les Ferdinand's scouting mission, the Daily Mail reports.

Ferdinand, director of football at Loftus Road, was in the stands to watch Washington net his 14th goal of the season in Posh's 3-2 victory over Sheffield United on Saturday.

It has been a prolific season for Washington in front of goal, and his form in League One has been earning rave reviews, and interest from higher up the Football League pyramid.

QPR’s interest in signing the 23-year-old in January comes following Wolves and Birmingham City showing an interest in him. The Daily Mail reported in December that the two Championship sides were fighting it out to sign the hotshot forward.

There are no indications that any offers have yet been made for the former St. Ives and Newport County man, although with QPR now entering the race for his signature, a bidding war is likely to start in the coming days.
