Elmohamady has been excellent for Steve Bruce's side this season, as they look to bounce back from the disappointment of relegation and get back to the top flight at the first attempt. However, the Yorkshire Post suggests that they may have to continue their promotion push without the Egyptian.
The 28-year-old has scored three goals and has bagged four assists to help the Tigers remain well-placed going into the second-half of the season. Friday's dramatic victory over Queens Park Rangers has left Bruce's men third in the Championship, one point off an automatic promotion spot.
As well as his creativity, Elmohamady would bring a versatility that would make him very useful to both Roberto Martinez and Tony Pulis. Should neither manager have the financial resources to significantly strengthen their respective squads during the next month, the acquisition of the former Sunderland man would provide cover in several positions by just making the one signing.
