Rangers fans react on Twitter to new signing Maciej Gostomski's Ibrox arrival

Rangers signed goalkeeper Maciej Gostomski on Sunday.

On Sunday afternoon, Rangers confirmed on their official website that Polish goalkeeper Maciej Gostomski has signed a six-month deal with the club.

Gostomski, 27, was recently playing in his native Poland with Lech Poznan, but his contract there expired on December 31st, enabling him to join another club on a free transfer.

Last month, Gostomski went on trial with Rangers in a bid to win a contract with the Scottish Championship league leaders, and on Sunday he was confirmed as their second January signing already, following on from Harry Forrester last week.

Gostomski will now offer competition for first choice goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, and could even make his debut against Cowdenbeath in the Scottish Cup next weekend.

After the deal was confirmed, Rangers fans took to Twitter in order to give their verdict on the deal, with most fans pleased with the move.

Some asked what the future holds for goalkeeper Cammy Bell, who is out of contract at the end of the season, and hoped that he would spur Foderingham on to improve even more.

Others noted how the signing could expand Rangers' fanbase outside of Scotland, but there was some concern that both Forrester and Gostomski have only signed six-month contracts, and questioned why the deals are so short if they are planning for the future.
